CEO Report: Addressing Key Challenges in Australia's Healthcare System

The lack of integration between various elements of Australia’s fragmented and complex healthcare system is causing enormous inefficiencies in healthcare delivery and confusion for both consumers and healthcare service providers.

This was the key conclusion of a roundtable discussion of healthcare service provider CEOs and other senior managers held earlier this year at Australian Healthcare Week in Sydney on March 8th and 9th. The roundtable discussion, hosted by medical device provider Medline and moderated by consulting and research company Frost & Sullivan, involved 14 CEOs and other senior managers from healthcare service providers, including private hospital groups, public health districts and primary care groups.

Ahead of Victorian Healthcare Week and the Health Facilities Design & Development Summit 2017 we delve into the outcomes of this discussion in an exclusive report. The report features a summary of perspectives shared by Australia’s leading healthcare providers and explores broad industry challenges including structural inefficiencies and a lack of healthcare investments.
